Terms of Service

TL;DR: Use the service for harmless creative fun. You must be 13 or older. Don't use it to hurt, harass, deceive, or impersonate anyone. We can suspend accounts that do.

1. Acceptance

By using Time Traveler Vlog ("the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please don't use the service.

2. Eligibility — you must be 13 or older

The service is intended for users aged 13 years and older. By using the service you represent that you meet this requirement. Users between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction must have their parent or guardian's permission.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Keep your login credentials private.
• One person, one account. Sharing accounts violates these Terms.
• You can delete your account at any time from the account page.

4. Your content

You own everything you record. We don't claim any ownership over your videos, photos, or custom-generated scenes.

To run the service we need limited rights to host the content you upload — for example, to display your library, transcode for compatibility, or deliver shared links. You can revoke these rights at any time by deleting the content.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Harass, threaten, defame, or stalk any person.
• Generate or distribute sexual content involving minors, or any non-consensual sexual content.
• Impersonate a real person in a way that could mislead viewers.
• Promote violence or hatred against people based on protected characteristics.
• Generate "deepfake" footage of identifiable people without their consent.
• Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property.
• Distribute malware, run abusive automation, or attempt to break our security.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as authentic historical record.

We may, at our discretion, remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Custom scene generation (Time Lord)

The "generate a custom era" feature uses an AI image model. Prompts are screened automatically; clearly hateful, sexual, or violent prompts are rejected. We reserve the right to deny any prompt that doesn't fit the spirit of the product.

7. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

• Paid plans (Time Traveler $4.99/mo, Time Lord $14.99/mo) renew monthly until you cancel.
• Cancel any time from the customer portal — your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
• We offer a pro-rata refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not yet used the paid features (e.g. no premium-era recording or custom scene generation).
• Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Trials: a 7-day Time Traveler trial is offered on signup. Cancel before day 7 to avoid the first charge.

8. Our intellectual property

The Time Traveler Vlog name, logo, brand, source code, and stock historical scenes we publish are our property or licensed to us. You may not copy, redistribute, or use them outside of the service without permission.

9. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or that AI-generated scenes will be historically accurate. Use it for fun and creativity, not for the historical record.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, sections 4–5, 7–10, and 12 survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email (for signed-in users) and via a banner on the site for at least 30 days before they take effect.
